Melania Trump and Ivanka slammed for wearing THIS item of clothing
Melania, 47, and Ivanka, 35, have come under fire for their choice of footwear – high heels.
An article published in Newsweek attacked the First Lady and First Daughter for their shoe choice.
The piece was titled ‘Melania and Ivanka Trump Wear High Heels, A Symbol Of Everything That Is Beautiful and Horrifying About Them’ and stated that despite high heels being out of fashion, the Trump women still wear them.
Nina Burleigh, its author, criticised their choice to wear heels quoting British psychologist Paul Morris: “High heels just exaggerate the femaleness of the walk…they are just buying into traditional binary views of male and female”.
Nina wrote: “Historically, the Trumpian women’s shoe choice was invented not for women but aristocratic men, men who would never have to work, and who didn’t have to walk much but were carried in litters or carriages.
“Paintings of Louis XIV, the Sun King, show him sporting red-soled heels, posing with one foot forward and pointed out – much like Melania and Ivanka Trump in countless photographs over the years.”
The two women are currently cementing their roles within the Trump administration, with Ivanka working within the White House to advise her father.
This comes at a time when Dame Helen Mirren criticised Ivanka’s new book, branding it “ignorant” and as having “no substance.
The 72-year-old actress said: “Ivanka talks a good game, but there’s no substance.
“Her book is so ignorant about how the majority of women live, talking about ‘Make time for yourself to have a massage’. Puh-lease.”
The actress also criticised Melania claiming the First Lady came close to taking down Donald Trump’s presidency.
Helen made it clear she has mixed feelings about Melania during an interview with Allure magazine.
